The Mississippi Alliance for Arts Education (MAAE), working in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), will host an Arts Education Professional Development Track as part of the 2006 TRAIN Conference. Through a grant from the Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network, MAAE will provide scholarships to pay conference registration ($50) for up to 85 individuals who register for the Arts Education Professional Development Track. In addition, ten scholarships of $150 will be awarded to individuals from the six coastal counties affected by Hurricane Katrina: Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, Stone, and George. Scholarships will be awarded in the order that applications are received. Please submit promptly.

Please note: By accepting a registration scholarship, individuals agree to attend five Arts Education Professional Development Track sessions at the conference. Scholarship recipients will also be expected to participate in a conference follow-up questionnaire during the first nine weeks of the 2006-2007 school year.

A $50 penalty fee will be assessed any individual who accepts a registration scholarship but does not attend the conference. Scholarship applicants who learn that they are unable to attend the TRAIN Conference and who notify the MAAE prior to May 5th will not be assessed the penalty.

Deadline to submit application has been extended beyond the original date of May 5, 2006.
Deadline has now expired (05/27/06) and registration is closed.
