Re-thinking the 21st Century School

An Innovative Workshop for K-12 Teachers and Administrators

Are today’s schools preparing students for their future? Are our teachers and administrators clinging to traditions that no longer work? In today’s world, learners need to be able to make connections across disciplines. They should be engaged through a variety of strategies. This workshop offers instructional strategies that will prepare students for a world that requires creativity and innovation-a world that is changing faster than most schools can possibly adapt. The workshop will weave together concepts from Norman Webb’s Depth of Knowledge, Grant Wiggins’ Understanding by Design, and education research focused on 21st Century skills. This workshop is presented by the Mississippi Alliance for Arts Education.
