Sponsorship Opportunities, 2011-2012

All sponsorships are tax deductible. All sponsors will be acknowledged on the MAAE website, Facebook, Twitter, and media coverage.

This list will be updated as new opportunities become available for students in all regions of Mississippi

  1. Adopt-A-School: Adopt a school that has expressed interest (through a letter of commitment to MAAE) to learn about Arts Integration.

          Send an MAAE Teaching Artist team to the school for a day of residency to demonstrate arts integration with students
          and for teachers, followed by a faculty debriefing and Arts Integration Orientation materials. --$750
     

  2. Adopt-A-Class: Adopt a class at a school of your choice to send students and teachers to a theatre experience.--$200

  1. Read for the Record: Purchase children’s literature selections for classrooms where books will be delivered, read with an arts experience to complement the book, and donated to the classroom. --$100 - $500
     

  2. Link Up: Sponsor students and teachers who are participating in the Link Up Program.

Five Symphony Orchestras in Mississippi have become partners in the Carnegie Hall Link Up Program, coordinated by the Mississippi Arts Commission. Offered to students in grades 4–5, the program encourages children to sing, compose, play the recorder, and more. The orchestras include: Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra; USM Symphony Orchestra; Meridian Symphony Orchestra; and Tupelo Symphony Orchestra. http://www.carnegiehall.org/Education/Link-Up

  • Purchase recorders for students in one classroom. --$100

  • Contribute to school district transportation costs to help defray the cost of hiring a driver and/or purchasing gasoline for a round trip to the concert hall.  --$25 - $50

  • Purchase box lunches for a workshop day to train teachers to prepare students for the program. --$50 (for lunches for five teachers.)

  1. State Arts Awards: Each year the MAAE celebrates outstanding persons and organizations that support the arts in education. Each award winner is honored at the annual MAAE Awards Banquet with a commissioned piece of Mississippi artwork and a plaque. Sponsors are invited to present the award and be acknowledged at the banquet --$250
     

  2. Visit-A-Museum: Send a class to one of the hands-on museums listed below. Sponsorship includes admission and/or transportation costs. --$200

  1. Rent-a-Space: Sponsor our "Arts are Nature’s Course…Why have courses without the arts?" advocacy campaign with a billboard on a highway in Mississippi.

  • Headricks has bill boards available in Covington, Forrest, Grenada, Hinds, Jones, Lauderdale, and Washington Counties. Vinyl (art, print, install) : --$1000; Monthly rate: $300-$500
